Paint Supplies

This was my first time painting a vehicle, and I learned a lot along the way. Here is a list of all the supplies I used to paint Rusty, along with some notes on what worked well and what didn't.

As for quanties, keep in mind that I sprayed a good amount of the interior as well.

  • Goof Off
  • Custom Shop Series Wax and Grease Remover
  • Eastwood Epoxy Primer. 1 gallon was just enough.
  • Evercoat Body Filler
  • Evercoat ZGrip Glazing Putty
  • Primer
    • UPOL System 20 High Build Primer (UP2253V)
    • UPOL System 20 Hardener (UP2391)
    • I used just over 2 gallons.
  • Spralac Polyurethane Topcoat (SP-150)
    • Assuan Brown
    • Samos Beige
  • Valspar Hardener
  • GM Urethane Reducer (Medium)
  • 3M Gun Cleaner
  • 3M PPS Cups - 22oz. I used just shy of 50
  • Devilblis FLG4
    • 1.8mm tip for primer
    • 1.3mm tip for topcoat
  • #M Urethane Seam Sealer 08367 & 08365
  • 3M Fullface respirator 6800
  • 3m Plastic sheeting, the treated kind that traps overspray
