Early 2010s
My brother (Geoff) bought Rusty in San Diego CA, about 15 minutes into the drive home the original 1.6 diesel motor blows a hole out of the bottom.
A few weeks later
Geoff picks up a 1.9L AAZ diesel motor and swaps it in.
2010-2019
For the next 5-7 years, rusty lived between the bay area and the eastern sierras. Geoff spent winters living out of the van and skiing as much as possible.
2019ish
Around 2019, With rust holes you can put your hand through and a leaky sunroof, Rusty is in need of some love. Geoff doesn't have time for the project so a friend of ours decides he's up for the challenge. He picks up rusty and heads north to Washington.
2019-2022
Our buddy JD makes some small progress on the van. It's running smooth but the body is rusting away.
